Justin Long is an actor, comedian, director, and screenwriter from the United States. Moreover, Justin Long rose to fame for his roles in DodgeBall: A True Underdog Story and Live Free or Die Hard.

Early Life

Justin Long was born on the 2nd of June, 1978, in Fairfield, Connecticut, the United States of America. It makes him 45 years old and holds American nationality.

Moreover, his full name is Justin Jacob Long, and has a birth sign of Gemini. In addition, he has his belief in Christianity and belongs to mixed ethnicity of German, Sicilian, and Polish descent.

Concerning his parents’ names, he is the son of Raymond James Long (father) and Wendy Lesniak (mother). Professionally, his father serves as a professor of philosophy and Latin at Fairfield University, while his mother is a former actress. In addition, he has two elder brothers named Christian Long and Damian Long who is also a stage actor and teaches at Weston High School.

Professional Career

Initially, Justin Long worked as an acting instructor/counselor for a children’s theatre group at Sacred Heart University. In 1999, he made his acting debut in the movie “Galaxy Quest” playing the role of Brandon. Moreover, his role was highly admired by both critics and the audience.
He made his television debut in the comedy-drama television series “Ed” as an awkward adolescent, Warren Cheswick. And, the series was broadcast on NBC which was a major hit and continued for four years (from 2000-2004).
From 2001 to 2003, he appeared in three movies “Jeepers Creepers” (2001), “Happy Campers” (2001), “Crossroads” (2002), and a sequel of “Jeepers Creepers 2” (2003).
Similarly, he was cast in four movies “Raising Genius”, “DodgeBall: A True Underdog Story”, and “Wake Up, Ron Burgundy: The Lost Movie.” He lent his voice to the character Dwayne in the 2004 adult animated horror romantic comedy film “Hair High.”
Later, he made an appearance in a short film, “Robin’s Big Date” (2005). In the year 2005, he went on to appear in the two movies “Herbie: Fully Loaded” and “Waiting…”

He was busy in 2006 and appeared in five films, including, “The Sasquatch Gang”, “Dreamland”, “The Break-Up”, “Accepted” and “Idiocracy.” During the same year, he also appeared in  an episode of “That 70’s Show”, “Love of My Life.”
From 2006 to 2007, he appeared in 3 episodes of the animated sitcom “King of the Hill.” He also appeared as a guest in the documentary, Wild West Comedy Show. He lent his voice to Alvin Seville in the animated movie “Alvin and the Chipmunks” and Senn in another animated action-adventure science fiction film “Battle for Terra.”

After that, he appeared in two movies “Strange Wilderness”, and “Just Add Water” in the year 2008. That same year, he appeared in the movie “Zack and Miri Make a Porno” playing the role of Brandon St. Randy, a gay adult film star.

He played the role of Alex in the 2009 romantic comedy-drama film “He’s Just Not That Into You.” Additionally, he appeared in several films such as ‘Still Waiting…”, “Taking Chances”, “Serious Moonlight”, “Drag Me to Hell”, “Funny People”, “Old Dogs”, and “After Life” in the year 2009.

During the same year, he did two voice roles, one in the film “Planet 51” and the second for “Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel” where he reprised the character of Alvin.

From 2010 to 2011, he appeared in numerous movies such as,”‘Youth in Revolt”, “Going the Distance”, “Alpha and Omega”, “The Conspirator”, “10 Years”, and “New Girl.”

Again, he reprised his voice role for the third offering for the 2011 animated film “Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked.” He was featured in 13 episodes of the 2012 TV series, “Unsupervised” providing the voice to Gary. “For a Good Time, Call” and “Best Man Down” are two movie appearances in the year 2012.

He starred as Robin in the 2013 movie “Movie 43″ in the segment ‘Super Hero Speed Dating.” Moreover, he was part of the 2014 romantic movie ” Comet ” co-produced by him.

In addition, he starred in the 2015 adult-animated comedy drama streaming television series “F is for Family.” He voices the role of Kevin Murphy in the series and appeared in 35 episodes.

Recent Works

From 2016 to 2017, he starred in a total of six films such as “Yoga Hosers”, “Lavender”, “Ghost Team”, “And Then I Go”, “And Then I Go” and “Literally, Right Before Aaron.”

During this period, he lent his voice to the main role of Spyro in the computer-animated streaming series “Skylanders Academy” (2016-2018). He starred as Max Cameron in the 2021 buddy comedy film “Lady of the Manor” and he also was the writer, director, and producer of the film.

His recent television works are “The Conners” (2018), “Giri/Haji” (2019), “Creepshow” (2021), and “Masters of the Universe: Revelation” voice work (2021). In the year 2022, he starred in four movies “House of Darkness”, “Barbarian”, “Christmas with the Campbells”, and “Clerks III.”

He is currently working on an upcoming supernatural thriller movie project “Dear David” and the upcoming horror comedy series “Goosebumps.”
