John started his career in acting in the mid-1950s, playing teenage roles. One day, an agent named Henry Wilson saw John’s picture on a magazine cover where Saxon posed as a Puerto Rican guy. The agent immediately contacted him, and also gave him the stage name ‘John Saxon’. Likewise, John signed with Universal Studios in 1954 which became the starting point of his career. Saxon played the lead role in Rock, Pretty Baby a low-budget movie that achieved huge success.
Similarly, he played the role of youth in the movie The Unguarded Moment, opposite Esther Williams. Additionally, John has also appeared in popular Hollywood movies including This Happy Feeling, Summer Love, Cry Tough, and Restless Years. In 1996, he played in the movie Dusk Till Dawn, opposite George Clooney. Moreover, in 1973, John played in the movie Enter the Dragon, where he played a gambler competing in a martial arts tournament. This film gave him a chance to hone his skills in martial arts. Likewise, it was Bruce Lee’s first starring role in Hollywood. Saxon has a black belt in karate and is proficient in Judo.
Furthermore, John has appeared in several movies and television series including The Virginian, The Intruders, The Sixth Sense, The Bees, and The Rookies.
