In his initial days, Jocko took Navy recruit training and joined the Naval Amphibious Base Coronado for SEAL training. After six months, he enlisted in the Navy SEAL. He served for 8 years with SEAL Team ONE and SEAL Team TWO.
After catching a Russian tanker carrying Iraqi oil, he got a commission and became a platoon commander.
In 2006, he organized the SEAL operations against the Iraqi rebels to establish peace and stability. After serving in the Navy for two decades, he got retired in October 2010. In his career, he earned a Silver Star Medal and a Bronze Star Medal for his amazing performance.
He is also an author. After retiring from the Navy, he and Leif collaborated to write a book “Extreme Ownership: How U.S. Navy Seals Lead and Win”. Published in 2015, the book became a bestseller in the USA.
