Jerry was selected 4th overall in the 1965 NBA Draft by the ‘Baltimore Bullets’ again. Likewise, Sloan was part of the ‘NBA All-Star team in 1967 and 1969. As part of the first NBA ‘Chicago Bulls team (1966 – 1976), Jerry went on to become one of their greatest players ever.
Jerry led the team to the playoffs and their first division title, in their first season. Similarly, Jerry’s career as a pro basketball player ended in 1976 with the ‘Chicago Bulls’, following many knee injuries. Before Jerry’s retirement, he had scored more than 15 points in almost every game.
In the year 1976, Sloan became the coach for the ‘University of Evansville team for five days. Jerry was then recruited by the ‘Chicago Bulls in 1978 as a scout and then made an assistant coach.
In the year 1979, Jerry became the head coach for ‘Chicago Bulls’ (1979 – 1982). In Sloan’s three seasons, he won 94 games and lost 121.

Furthermore, Jerry also led the ‘Utah Jazz’ to ‘NBA Finals’ in 1997 and 1998. For the years 2006 – 2007’, 2007 – 2008’, and 2009 – 2010’ seasons, Jerry coached the team to first place again in the ‘Northwest Division’ in the ‘Western Conference’.
Moreover, Jerry resigned as head coach on February 10, 2011. On January 19, 2013, he returned as an adviser for the ‘Utah Jazz’. Similarly, Sloan was honored by the franchise on January 31, 2014, with a banner stating “1223”, representing his wins.
