Jeon Jungkook

Jeon Jungkook, better known as Jungkook or JK, is the main vocalist and the youngest member of the popular boy band BTS. Jeon Jung Kook is a South Korean K-pop artist, singer, dancer, songwriter, and record producer. From award show stages such as billboards to Grammy, stadium tours, and concerts, the young man is known to uplift the audience with his rap, voice, and dance moves.

Early Life and Childhood

Jungkook’s full name is Jung Jung-Guk, 전정국 in Hangul. Jungkook is 26 years old. He celebrates his birthday on September 1 since he was born on the same day in 1997, in Buk district, in Busan, South Korea.

His family consists of his mother, father, and older brother. There’s not much information regarding his family.

Jungkook received his high school education from Beak Yang Middle School. In 2017, he graduated from the Seoul School of Performing Arts.

He started break dancing while at Seoul Performing Arts School. He learned his other dancing styles such as Powerful dances, and urban styles in 2012 in Los Angeles.


In the 2019 MTV Millenial Award, Jungkook won the Global Instagrammer Award.  Together with BTS, he has won Billboard’s Top Social Artist Award three times in a row.

The Guinness World Records organization has also confirmed that Jungkook along with his band, has broken three major records in total.

Looking inside his love life the media doesn’t have any information regarding his dating life. Before his debut, he dated a girl named Park Se-won who went to the same junior high school as him. Above all,  Jeon broke up with her to put all his effort into work.

Around 2015, rumors surfaced saying that he was in a relationship with a former CUBE trainee girl Ko Seo Hyun.

Some people on the web have claimed that Jungkook and Lovely’s Jeong Ye In were in a relationship. Above all, neither he nor his company has confirmed anything about his dating life.

Professional Life 

Jungkook debuted under the hip-hop boy band BTS on June 12, 2013, with the release of the single ‘2 Cool 4 Skool’. After this, Jungkook along with his bandmates released hit albums one after another.

Under BTS, Jeon Jungkook has sung two solo tracts; the first being the pop track “Begin” from the 2016 album Wings. The second track, “Euphoria” was released on April 5, 2018, as the intro of BTS’ “Love Yourself” series. Euphoria topped the Gaon Digital Chart for 13 weeks.

Coming to Jungkook’s solo projects, he has so far released his covers of popular singles such as Purpose and Nothing Like Us (by Justin Beiber), Lost Stars (by Adam Levine), and Paper Hearts (by Tori Kelly), We Don’t talk anymore (by Charlie Puth).

Jungkook has also released montage videos on YouTube and is fond of photography.

On June 4, 2020, he released the song “Still With You”, for free on platforms such as SoundCloud as a part of BTS’ yearly debut celebrations. His song was described as “tinkling synths and gently strummed guitars and brushed drums”. He produced the piece himself.

Journey to becoming a Singer

Jungkook’s older brother’s name is Jeon Jung Hyun. He appears to be a supportive brother as he regularly shows love to his younger brother on his Instagram page.

Jungkook initially had dreamt of becoming a badminton player when he was young, but after seeing the famous Korean artist G-Dragon perform on television, it got changed to becoming a singer. Hence, he considers G-Dragon as his role model and musical influence.

In 2011, Jeon Jungkook auditioned on the South Korean talent show Superstar K but unfortunately was not selected by the judges and thus eliminated during the elimination round. After this, he received casting offers from several entertainment companies.

Eventually, he chose to become a trainee under Big Hit Entertainment after seeing Rap Monster, his fellow member, and leader in BangTan SoNyeonDan (BTS).
