Jeff Wald is a product of the famed William Morris Agency mailroom, which produced such Hollywood luminaries as David Geffen, Barry Diller, Jerry Weintraub, Ron Meyer, Bernie Brillstein, and others. Wald relocated to Chicago in 1967 and worked as a talent buyer for Mister Kelly’s, The London House, and The Happy Medium.

The next year, he relocated to Los Angeles. Wald and Ron De Blasio launched their own firm in late 1969 and added George Carlin to their roster. Two years later, he signed a record deal with Capitol Records for his then-wife, actress and singer Helen Reddy.

He founded his management firm in 1975, and among his clients have been Miles Davis, Marvin Gaye, Sylvester Stallone, James Brolin, Paul Rodriguez, Elliott Gould, Donna Summer, Flip Wilson, Clint Black, Gary Morris, Roseanne Barr, and Mike Tyson. Wald was named President of Barris Industries in 1986, which later became Guber Peters. He remained with the firm after Sony purchased it in 1991.

Other Works

Wald has produced award-winning movies of the week, miniseries, game shows, variety specials, scripted one-hour dramas, and talk shows, including Paul Rodriguez’s “Latin Nights” (1995), “James Brolin’s Pensacola: Wings of Gold” (1997), and “Reddy and Donna Summer specials.”

“The Contender” (2005), which aired for four years, was executive produced by Wald, Mark Burnett, Jeffrey Katzenberg, and Sylvester Stallone. Wald produced the feature films “Orion” (Opposing Force, 1986) and “Rhysher/MGM Entertainment” (2 Days in the Valley, 1996).

He later produced “Casablanca The Dance,” a musical adaptation of the legendary film “Casablanca,” which premiered in Beijing in front of the President of China and the majority of the Chinese government.

Wald is the current CEO of Aria Multimedia Entertainment and Creston Enterprises, which has produced and published two coffee table books, the “Official Michael Jackson Book” and “Hip Hop: A Cultural Odyssey,” both edited and created by Wald’s son, Jordan Sommers, and photo-edited by Wald’s wife, Deborah.
