J.B. Smoove is a famous actor, comedian, and writer from the United States. J.B. Smoove is known for his starring roles on HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm (2007–present) and the CBS sitcom The Millers (2013–15).
Early Life
J.B. Smoove was born on the 16th of December 1965, in Plymouth, North Carolina, the United States of America. His birth name is Jerry Angelo Brooks and holds American nationality. Moreover, J.B. He later worked in recurring roles on ‘Everybody Hates Chris’ and ‘Saturday Night Live.’ Later, this actor appeared on SNL as a writer and was a recipient of the 2007 Writers Guild of America award for Best Comedy/Variety Series (Including Talk). For three years, he was on Saturday Night Live.
Since 2007, he has been regularly playing as Leon Black on the HBO comedy ‘Curb Yur Enthusiasm’ (from the sixth season). Moreover, he got the role of Leon in this television series after his stint on SNL.
Although this actor was at that time based on the East Coast, this actor was in Los Angeles for his friend, music producer Oji Pierce’s funeral, so was able to audition for Curb Your Enthusiasm. On October 10, 2017, he wrote a book about his Curb Your Enthusiasm character, Leon, which was released.

He got cast on the short-lived sketch comedy program Cedric the Entertainer Presents. As a host, he hosted the standup comedy series Russell Simmons Presents: Stand-Up at The El Rey on Comedy Central in July 2010 and also appeared on an episode of The Simpsons titled “Angry Dad: The Movie” in February 2011.
He starred in the 2011 animated sitcom American Dad! the episode “The Worst Stan” and appeared in an episode of Kick Buttowski: Suburban Daredevil called “Dude, Where’s My Wade.”
His first televised comedy special, JB Smoove: That’s How I Dooz It, premiered on Comedy Central in the year 2012. On the 9th of April 2012, he was the substitute co-host of the New York City morning talk show Good Day New York with Rosanna Scotto. He also appeared as a cameo appearance as a grave digger in the episode of Louie entitled “Barney/Never.”
In the fourth season of episode seven, he played a supporting role in”The Vapora Sport” in the American sitcom The League on FX. That same year, he was cast as a regular cast member of the CBS comedy The Millers, playing the character Ray. On comedian Jerry Seinfeld’s web series, Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, Smoove was also featured. Additionally, he worked as a guest judge on the first season of the FOX reality singing competition ‘The Masked Singer.’
He has provided his voice as Frank in Harley Quinn beginning in 2019, as well as playing Julius Dell in the Marvel Studios film ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ and its 2021 sequel ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home.’ He starred in the 2020 comedy-mystery series ‘Mapleworth Murders.
