On April 14, 2015, the Vladimir Oktyabrsky Court sentenced Alburov and Nikita Kulachenkov to prison labor for stealing the street art mural. He was condemned to 240 hours of forced labor despite the painter didn’t mind if someone took his paintings. A few months later, the sentence was commuted due to an amnesty.

He was arrested on August 3, 2019, as an organizer of protests in Moscow. As a result of the protests, Moscow Metro and Mosgortrans filed a lawsuit against him and Lyubov Sobol. The Simonovsky District Court of Moscow settled the complaint in February 2020, fining the defendants 311,000 rubles as compensation on August 3.
