Geoff Huegill is an Australian former butterfly swimmer and dual Olympian. Geoff Huegill won seventy-two international medals, including two medals in the Olympics and six world champion titles.
Early Life
Huegill was born on 4 March 1979 in Nhulunbuy, Gove Peninsula in the Northern Territory, Australia as Geoffrey Andrew Huegill. His mother’s name is Kanthong Jum Summarta from Chaiyaphum, Thailand while his father is Ronald Huegill and was a miner.
Moreover, he grew up in Mackay with his older brother, Graeme. Later, he started to live with his coach permanently after his father’s death due to a heart attack.
Education
The talented swimmer attended Southern Cross Catholic College in Scarborough, Queensland. Furthermore, he was awarded an honorary master’s degree in sports science with high-class honors from Central Queensland University in July 2013. At the age of 11, he joined coach Ken Wood’s squad on invitation.
Career
Geoff is a former swimmer and dual Olympian. He won 72 international medals which include two medals in the Olympics and six world champion titles, throughout his career. Moreover, the talented swimmer held eight world records, including 50 50-meter butterfly.
Therefore, he has been known as technically the best butterflier. During the early 2000s, he was the dominant butterfly champion. Affectionately recognized as ‘Skippy’, he is the nation’s favorite comeback kid. In 2008, he came out of retirement and shed 45 kilograms of weight to fight his way back to competition.
Later, he was declared a national hero when he won gold at the 2010 Delhi Commonwealth Games in the 100-metre butterfly. Furthermore, he won the race in 51.69 seconds and broke the Commonwealth Games record and this was his own ten-year-old personal best time. Finally, he was voted Australian Sports Performer of the Year in 2010.
Besides swimming, he is also involved in the entertainment industry. However, he made a guest appearance in season one of Australia’s Next Top Model. Then, he was announced as a part of the celebrity cast for 2022 SAS Australia, Season 3 in October 2021.

Huegill married Sara Hills in the year 2011. They welcomed their first daughter in 2012 and their second daughter was born in 2014.

Then, he started dating an Australian lawyer, technology executive, and investor and her name is Roxan Toll.
Her family founded the eponymous Toll Group which is one of Australia’s oldest companies and Asia-Pacific’s largest transport and logistics provider. Later, the duo welcomed their first baby boy in 2021.
