FKA Twigs is an English Pop Singer. FKA Twigs is also a songwriter as well as a dancer. She was able to become a backup dancer for numerous famous musicians after moving to London when she was 17 years old. She made her musical debut with EP1 in the year 2012.
Birth, Place, Childhood, and Education
FKA Twigs was born on January 17, 1988, in Cheltenham, England. She is 36 years old and is under the astrological sign, Capricorn. She holds American nationality and her real name is Tahliah Debrett Barnett.
The name of Tahliah’s parents is not available at the moment. However, it is known that her mother was a dancer and gymnast whereas her biological father was a Jamaican who was a musician.

FKA twigs began making music in youth clubs when she was 16 years old. Then, at the age of 17, she moved to South London to pursue a career as a dancer. She also was able to work as a backup dancer in music videos by artists such as Kylie Minogue, Plan B, Ed Sheeran, Taio Cruz, Dionne Bromfield, Jessie J, and Wretch 32.
When she turned 18, she started working with local record producers to try to find her musical sound. And, during that time, she wrote the song “I’m Your Doll” and ended up producing a lot of what she called “really bad demos”.
She was photographed for the cover of i-D magazine in August 2012 and became popular as Twigs for the way her joints crack. She then went on to add the initialism FKA to her name when another act called the Twigs – twin sisters active and recording since 1994 – asked her to change her stage name.

Barnett released “Two Weeks”, the lead single from her forthcoming album, alongside a video, and the second single, “Pendulum”, was released on 29 July. Her debut studio album, LP1, was released on 6 August through Young Turks. After some time, she announced a world tour starting on 2 October at The Dome in Brighton, East Sussex, and ending on 3 December in Orlando, Florida at The Social. Also, at that same time, she signed with the London-based production company Academy Films as part of their A+ roster.
She also was one of the nominees for the 2014 Mercury Prize. Likewise, the “Video Girl”, the third and last single from the album, was released alongside a video a few days later, as well as an advert for Google Glass which Barnett directed. She was able to make her US television debut on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on 4 November.

FKA Twigs revealed via Instagram that she had undergone surgery to remove fibroid tumors from her uterus in December 2017. She even described her experience as “living with a fruit bowl of pain every day” and saluted the bravery of other women living with the condition. Then, after almost 3 years, she revealed in an interview that she had gone vegan after discovering that a diet including animal products was exacerbating the symptoms from her tumors.

FKA Twigs started dating English actor Robert Pattinson in September 2014. They also went on to become engaged before ending their relationship in mid-2017. Sadly, as a result of their relationship, she received racist and sexist online abuse.
Then, she was able to meet American actor Shia LaBeouf on the set of the film Honey Boy. They began dating in mid-2018 but broke up in mid-2019. She even filed a lawsuit against him at Los Angeles Superior Court in December 2020, accusing him of sexual battery, assault, and infliction of emotional distress during their relationship.
She then began dating 1975 singer, Matt Healy towards the end of 2019. The pair dated for over two years but called it quits on their relationship in June this year, reportedly due to their “work commitments”.
