Early on Sunday, February 5, 2023, college employees contacted Surrey Police and the South East Coast Ambulance Service to a residence on the Epsom College grounds. Sadly, when Surrey Police officers arrived at the scene at around 1:10 a.m., they discovered the death of three persons, including a child.
It was later determined that the people who died were Emma Pattison, 45, the head of Epsom College, her 7-year-old daughter Lettie, and her 39-year-old husband George.

Following the discovery of the bodies, family members were informed and are receiving support from specialist officials. Following that, police are investigating to determine how they died. According to Surrey Police officers, this case did not involve any other parties.
Meanwhile, the authorities have not yet provided an actual cause of death for those three. However, some online media reports that a gunshot was heard from the dead spot before the bodies were found at the Epsom College ground.
