Elijah Canlas was born in Manila, Philippines, on August 16, 2000. His full name is Elijah Luiz Madiclum Canlas and holds Filipino nationality. He comes under the birth sign of Leo and is currently 23 years old.

Elijah Canlas – Education
Moving on to his academics, he attended Statefields School, a private institute located in Bacoor, Cavite. He studied Theater Arts at the Philippine High School for the Arts in Junior High and graduated from MINT College in Senior High.
He is now studying for his Bachelor of Arts in Philippine Arts at the University of the Philippines Manila while continuing his acting career.
Professional Career
In 2014, Elijah Canlas made his acting debut as one of the four main characters in the film “Sundalong Kanin” when he was just 14 years old. In 2014, he auditioned for the major part of “Kalel, 15” when the show was still called “Son of God,” but was turned down since the role was intended to go to someone who resembled the mestizo son of a Spanish friar.
Four years later, in 2018, Canlas met with filmmaker Jun Robles Lana, who was seeking a talent manager. During the discussion, Lana said that Canlas may play the lead in his upcoming film as Kalel.
A year after his appearance in the movie “Edward” (2019), his acting abilities won him Best Supporting Actor (PinakaPASADOng Katuwang na Aktor) from the Pampelikulang Samahan ng mga Dalubguro (PASADO), with other nominees such as Baron Geisler, Joross Gamboa, and Ian Veneracion.
In May 2020, he was cast as a lead actor in the YouTube series “Gameboys.” Produced by The IdeaFirst Company, it is a boy’s love (BL) series in the Philippines that tells the story of two young guys who meet online during the COVID-19 outbreak.

Along with Kokoy de Santos as Gavreel Alarcon, he played Cairo Lazaro, an aspiring online game broadcaster, in the thirteen-part web series.
On August 5, 2020, he won his first Best Actor award at the renowned 17th Asian Film Festival in Rome, Italy, for Kalel, 15. CNN awarded him “Actor of the Year” on December 22, of that same year.
In late 2020, Netflix released a re-cut version of the series, called “Gameboys Level-Up Edition.” He starred as Lancelot in the 2022 film “About Us But Not About Us.” The next year, he was cast in the role of Paciano Mercado in the 2023 historical biographical film “GomBurZa.”
Apart from the big-screen movies and web series, the actor has appeared in TV series such as “Almost Paradise” (2020), “Paano ang Pangako?” (2020-2021), “My Fantastic Pag-ibig” (2021), “Suntok sa Buwan” (2022), “The Iron Heart” (2023), and ” Senior High” (2023-2024).
