Edward Cagney Mathews was born in Mount Laurel, Burlington County, New Jersey, in the United States of America, and holds American nationality. According to an online website, he was born in 1976 making him aged 47.

Surpassing racist comments to his neighbor
According to a report released on October 5, 2021, by the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office, there were 40 complaints filed against Mathews between 2016 and July 2021. Based on the neighbors, he began harassing his Mount Laurel neighbors in 2017.
The Mount Laurel Police Department received 28 separate complaints against him from Essex Place, Mount Laurel residents between April 26, 2020, and July 4, 2021. Six of the complaints were racial. According to one complaint, he called his neighbors the N-word and monkeys, telling them that “they don’t belong in this town.”
On August 31, 2020, a neighbor accused him of racial harassment and discrimination and sought advice from lawyers on AVVO. Later, on July 2, 2021, a female neighbor in Mount Laurel called the police and accused him of persistently harassing her.

On the same day, he allegedly left a threatening note on someone’s car and caused damage to it. He was charged with harassment and bias intimidation. A Superior Court judge denied a prosecutor’s request that he be held on a warrant and instead released him on a summons.
On July 5, 2021, he was arrested again at his Mount Laurel home. Additional charges of bias intimidation and assault were filed against him, according to Burlington County prosecutor Scott Coffina. He was taken into the Burlington County Jail in Mount Holly, Burlington County, on July 6, 2021.

On July 14, 2021, he made his first appearance before Superior Court Judge Terrence Cook. Moreover, he was charged with 14 counts, including harassment, stalking, and weapons charges, and was represented by Anthony Rizzo. He faces 22 charges for crimes allegedly committed on July 2, 2021. On October 5, 2021, he was charged with racial intimidation for leaving a threatening note on someone’s car and damaging it.
