Early Life
Born as a Clay, better known by his online name DreamWasTaken was born in Orlando, Florida, the United States, on the 12th of August 1999. Currently, he is 24 years old and has a birth sign of Leo. He holds American nationality.
Although, there is not much known about his parents and family background. It is known that he has a younger brother and two younger sisters whose names are yet unknown at the moment. Krista, his younger sister, is just 14 years old. She appeared in one of his videos.

DreamWasTaken worked for AppleCare. Moreover, he started his social media career as a gamer. Primarily, he creates Minecraft playthroughs and commentary videos on YouTube and other platforms. He runs a YouTube channel named ‘Dream.’ Back on the 8th of February 2014, he launched the channel and gained over 31.8 million subscribers at the moment.
Initially, he started his YouTube career with his vlogs and random videos with friends. His passion for video games influenced his subsequent Minecraft videos. Dream spent up to 8 hours a day playing Minecraft during middle school. Over time, he needed to choose to study over Minecraft. However, he made it a point to spend time in the game regularly.
His coding knowledge enabled him to design unique Minecraft challenges that other creators couldn’t replicate. In just six months, his channel amassed 5 million subscribers.

His first video, “1000 Subs,” was uploaded on July 13, 2014. He was part of a quest to discover PewDiePie’s Minecraft world seeds. He started the Minecraft Manhunt YouTube trend and also created the Unsolved series and survival challenges. Moreover, he is a co-owner of BadBoyHalo’s Minecraft server MunchyMC.
He also became well-known for his Minecraft speedruns, though some of his records were overturned owing to proof of cheating. Content made on the Dream SMP, Dream’s invite-only survival multiplayer (SMP) Minecraft server featuring content producers engaging in roleplay, has also received significant attention, acclaim, and a large fan base.

Musical Career
Dream released his first song, entitled “Roadtrip”, in collaboration with PmBata on the 4th of February 2021. Moreover, the song garnered over 25 million views on YouTube. His second song “Mask” was released on the 20th of May 2021, and garnered over 24.7 million views on YouTube.
On 19 August 2021, he released his third song, “Change My Clothes” and it was a collaboration with American singer-songwriter Alec Benjamin. The song gained over 8.3 million views on YouTube. On 23 June 2023, his fourth song, “Until I End Up Dead” was released through Mercury and Republic Records.
On July 26, 2023, he revealed that his debut EP, To Whoever Wants to Hear, will be released on September 1, 2023, and will include seven tracks. The second single from that EP, “Everest” with Yung Gravy, was released on July 28, 2023, and the music video on August 9, 2023.
The music video for the second track on To Whoever Wants to Hear, “Kind of Love,” came out on August 31, 2023, the day before the EP’s release. The EP debuted at no. 174 on the Billboard 200 list.
