Dhruv Vikram initially got an offer to play a role in Mohan Raja’s M. Kumaran Son of Mahalakshmi (2004) but ultimately declined. Later, Pandiraj approached him to play the part of Anbukkarasu in Pasanga (2008).

However, Vikram was initially reluctant to let his son pursue acting, and the role ultimately went to Kishore DS.

In 2016, Dhruv released a short film called “Good Night Charlie” on YouTube that centers on child abuse.

Dhruv was scheduled to make his feature film debut in Bala’s Varma, a remake of the Telugu movie Arjun Reddy (2017).

However, the film’s release was delayed since the producer was disappointed with the finished product.

The movie was rebranded as Adithya Varma, and Dhruv continued to play his role.

Suganth of The Times of India noted that Dhruv “comes up with a performance that captures Vijay Deverakonda’s intense and raw act from the original note for note, but there is an assuredness and honesty here that makes us appreciate it rather than just dismiss it as mimicry.”

Suganth said of Dhruv Vikram that “he is rawer here, looking sure-footed in some situations and like a novice in others.” Varmaa was delayed for release in 2020.

Later, Dhruv agreed to star with his father in Mahaan, which was released on 10 February 2022 on Amazon Prime, the latter’s 60th film.

The majority of the reviews for the movie were good, praising Dhruv Vikram’s performance in particular.
