He started playing Auskick at Surfers Paradise when he was four years old and played over 250 junior and senior games for the club, including an under-16 premiership with future AFL players Brent Renouf, Jesse White, and Ricky Petterd.

After Brisbane lost to Melbourne in round 23 of the 2022 season, Zorko issued an apology for an inappropriate comment he made to Melbourne player Harrison Petty during the game. He resigned as Brisbane Lions captain in the 2023 season.
