Early life Childhood
Daryn A. Kagan was born on January 26, 1963, in Beverly Hills, California. Currently, she is 61 years old. She was brought up in a Jewish family. Her great-grandfather Eiser Cohen had migrated to the United States from Russia. Eiser settled in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, but his son Jack later moved to the Los Angeles area, where she was born and brought up.
Her mother Phyllis was a breast cancer survivor. She even appeared in a CNN discussion session. However, she has not mentioned her father. Moreover, she has two brothers. The elder one is called Mark whereas the younger is called Kallan who is an executive at Arc Productions

Regarding her education, Kagan attended Beverly Hills High School in her hometown. She was an athlete and a part of the school track team. In 1981 she graduated and enrolled at Stanford University. She graduated in 1985.

Daryn Kagan started her career journey at KEYT-TV. She initially served as a reporter at the Santa Barbara television station and later moved to Phoenix as a reporter for KTVK. She contributed to sports news reporting apart from the local news stories. After ending her contract with KTVK, she was hired by CNN/SI. As a sports anchor and correspondent, she covered big sports events like the Super Bowl, the NBA Playoffs, and international figure skating championships.
Following sports anchoring, Karan moved to become a CNN news anchor. Subsequently, she reported on presidential and mid-term elections, the second Gulf War, and the Washington, D.C. sniper attack investigation. Moreover, she traveled across continents to cover the news on AIDS and famine status in Africa.
