Early Life
Cyrus Sahukar was born on August 6, 1980, in Mhow, Indore, India. He was born to his father Behram Sahukar and his mother Nimeran Sahukar. His father is a professional colonel and his mother is a writer. Likewise, his age is currently 43 years old (as of 2024). When he was 4 years old, his parents divorced, and he later moved in with his grandmother in Delhi.

Career and Professional Career
Early Years
From the age of six, Cyrus Sahukar began acting in plays and participating in theater. He joined IPS Kiran Bedi’s Literacy Mission Program at the age of 14 and participated in plays and skits that the students performed for the prisoners at Tihar Jail. He performed in Salman Rushdie’s play, Haroun and the Sea of Stories, which was a part of Barry John’s Red Noses Club, during the same time frame. His first singing gig as a professional was in the Stephen Marazzi-produced musical production Thank You for the Music when he was only 15 years old. In due course, he began supporting Roshan Abbas.
At the age of 16, Sahukar launched his career in Delhi as the host of the radio program Radio Rampage. He participated in the staging and performed in Roshan Abbas’s Graffiti Postcards from School and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Starlight Express in the same year. Under his guidance, Sahukar also began recording voiceovers and jingles for radio. His debut commercial was for the company Harpic.
VJ on MTV (2000-2010)
With Mini Mathur and Asif Seth, Cyrus won the MTV VJ Hunt, which marked the beginning of his MTV career. In 1999, he was the host of MTV Chill Out. He served as the spokesperson for the MTV Fully Faltoo program in 2000.
In numerous other programs, he also played a variety of bizarre characters, such as Piddhu The Great, which was based on the Indian cricketer-commentator Navjot Singh Sidhu, and Rendezvous with Semi Girebaal, which was his unusual spin on the talk show Rendezvous with Simi Garewal. The parody, Semi Girebaal, had a higher TRP than the original program. MTV Roadies season 1 was also hosted by Cyrus in 2003.
In 2004, Cyrus Broacha, another VJ, and Sahukar worked together on a program called MTV123 that later changed its name to Cy vs. Cy. MTV’s Fully Faltoo Film Festival starred Cyrus Sahukar, Ayushmann Khurrana, and former roadie contestant Shambhavi Sharma.
In the hour-long feature Bechaare Zameen Par, a parody of the Indian movie Taare Zameen Par (2007), Sahukar played the role of Pareshaan Awasthi. Sahukar then went on to play 25 characters in the mockumentary series Kick-Ass Morning (2009), among them the engineer Bobby Chadda, an NGO worker named Paromita, Mr. Banerjee, Cyrus Macchiwala, and rapper AJ.
TV Career
By 2008, he had left MTV and began hosting game shows on networks like POGO, Star TV, UTV, and Zee TV. (2006) on ZeeTV, he served as the host of the business reality program Business Baazigar.
Additionally, he hosted 300 episodes of the game shows POGO All-stars and Hole in the Wall (2008) on the POGO channel. He was a Bloomberg UTV India anchor for The Assignment Season 1 (2008), a business reality program on the business news channel. In 2008, he also served as host of The Pogo Amazing Kids Awards.
Furthermore, Sahukar later hosted the HDFC SpellBee on the National Geographic channel in 2009. He served as host of the Wild Wisdom Quiz, the largest wildlife trivia competition in the world, in the same year (2009 and 2019).

Sahukar investigated his interests in cooking in a brand-new cooking program called The Missing Apron on TLC India in 2020. Together with actor Amol Parashar, he hosted Feelin’ Alive for seasons 1 and 2 on Discovery Plus in 2021 and 2022, respectively.
In 2017, he and actor Kunal Kapoor co-hosted Season 2 of the travel program The Great Escape on FOX LIFE. Films and OTT
Sahukar participated in acting in Bollywood films in the early 2000s. Om Jai Jagdish (2002), directed by Anupam Kher, was his debut feature. Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, who wrote, produced, and directed the Indian drama film Rang de Basanti (2006), cast Sahukar as Rahul later in the year. In 2009, he appeared in Delhi 6, another Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra film.
He appeared in the Sonam Kapoor and Abhay Deol starrer Aisha (2010) the following year as Randhir Gambir, a wealthy West Delhi boy. The House Guest (2011) featured Sahukar as the lead. He appeared in the multi-starrer Hindi romantic film Love Breakups Zindagi (2011), which was directed by Sahil Sangha, in the same year.
Furthermore, Sahukar made a brief appearance as Nausher Bandookwala in Sonam Kapoor’s comedy-drama Khubsoorat in 2014. In 2014, he also appeared in Words with God, the first of four films in the Heartbeat of the World anthology series, which was directed by Mira Nair. Alongside Lara Dutta, Naseeruddin Shah, and Soha Ali Khan, Sahukar appeared in the Emmay Entertainment production Kaun Banegi Shekharvati in 2020. The show was directed by Gaurav Chawla. Over 3000 live events have been hosted by Cyrus. As a VJ, he hosted his first awards ceremony for MTV India’s Lycra MTV Style Awards in 2007. Adidas, Ericsson, Samsung, Puma, and other luxury brands have invited Sahukar to host their Indian product launches. In 2015, he started working with Tata Motors. He also served as the event’s host for the 2016 Huawei P9 launch.
