Chris Mortensen was born in Torrance, California, on November 7, 1951. He is of White ethnicity and has an American nationality.
After graduating from North Torrance High School in Torrance, California, Chris Mortensen enrolled at El Camino College and earned his bachelor’s degree. A bachelor’s degree is needed. He is 72 years old.

Mortensen chose journalism as a profession because he was no longer able to compete in athletics. He worked for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and later for The National, where he covered the NFL.
