Early Life
Cho Gue-sung was born in Ansan, Gyeonggi, South Korea, on 25 January 1998. He holds South Korean citizenship and belongs to the South Asian ethnicity. According to the astrological chart, he has a zodiac sign of Aquarius and is currently 24 years old as of 2023.

Moving on to his academics, he enrolled at Gwangju University. At first, he was placed in the midfield position but his university’s head coach Lee Seung-won changed his position to striker in 2017. He played only one season for the university from 2017 to 2018.

Cho Gue-sung joined K League 2 side FC Anyang in 2019, where he was a youth player before. In his debut professional season, he was named to the K League 2 Best XI by becoming the number 3 goalscorer.
He then moved to the K League 1 team Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors. He struggled to prove himself in his debut season with Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors. In 2021, he joined the military squad Gimcheon Sangmu to perform his necessary duty and secure a steady position.
During his training period in the Gimcheon, he developed physically and technically. During the 2022 K League 1, he became the top goalscorer and led Jeonbuk to the 2022 Korean FA Cup title.

Mainz 05, Celtic, and Minnesota United all made bids for him in January 2023, according to Jeonbuk. Cho was interested in playing for Mainz and Celtic, but he turned down their offers after judging that his physical condition was not good enough to play in Europe.
He signed Danish Superliga club Midtjylland on a five-year contract for a fee reported to be around £2.6 million, on the 11th of July 2023. He made his debut for the club on 22 July 2023, scoring in a 1-0 win over Hvidovre. As of now, he has made a total of 16 appearances for the club, scoring a total of 8 goals.
International Career
On September 7, 2021, he made his senior debut for South Korea in a World Cup qualifier against Lebanon. He was included in the 26-man squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in November 2022 He scored two goals against Ghana in an eventual 2–3 defeat in the Krea’s second match at the tournament. As a result, he became the first South Korean player to ever score 2 or more goals in a single World Cup match.

Even though Korea lost that match, the goals were vital in advancing Korea to the Round of 16 on goal difference against Uruguay. Cho established himself as one of the best players in the air in Qatar because of his performance in the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
