He made a comeback and won the bout in the 3rd round via heel hook submission. On June 12, 2021, he faced  Steven Peterson at  UFC 263.

Peterson weighed in at 148.5 pounds, two and a half pounds during the weigh-ins. The fight proceeded at catchweight and Peterson was fined 20% of his purse, which went to Hooper.

He lost the bout by unanimous decision. On May 21, 2022, Chase is scheduled to face Felipe Colares at UFC Fight Night 206.
