Carl Weathers is an American actor, television director, and former professional football player. Carl Weathers is best known for his roles as Apollo Creed in the Rocky film franchise, Al Dillon in Predator, Chubbs Peterson in Happy Gilmore and Little Nicky, and a fictionalized version of himself in the Fox sitcom Arrested Development. In the Cartoon Network series Regular Show, he also voiced Kirby in Balto III Wings of Change and the God of Basketball.

During his college years, he began playing professional football. He began his football career at Long Beach City College as a defensive end. He later went to San Diego State University, where he quickly earned a letterman for the Aztecs.

After being undrafted, he signed as a free agent with the Oakland Raiders in 1970. That year, he appeared in seven games for the team, and the next year, he only appeared in one game.

In 1975, he appeared in the film ‘Bucktown,’ directed by his friend Arthur Marks. He appeared in the film ‘Friday Foster’ in the same year. Arthur Mark, who directed and produced the last film, is again directing and producing this one.

In 1976, he became well-known for his performance in the American sports drama film Rocky. Rocky Balboa, a small-time club boxer who obtains a crack at the world heavyweight title, is the subject of a film directed by John G. Avildsen.

Weathers portrays Apollo Creed, a world champion boxer who must defend his championship against Balboa.

He reprised his role as Apollo Creed in ‘Rocky II’ in 1979, after acting in a few other films such as ‘Semi-Tough’ (1977) and ‘The Bermuda Depths (1978). The film was a commercial success and became one of the year’s highest-grossing films.
