He graduated from New Iberia Senior High School and obtained a degree from the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism in 1982. William is currently 64 years old.

He initially worked as an assistant in the mailroom at International Creative Management (ICM), where he gained valuable experience and insight into the workings of talent representation. Since 2005, Lourd has been a member of the board of directors of IAC, an online media company led by Barry Diller.
