Talking about his career, In 1985, Goldner began his job as a marketing assistant at a Long Island healthcare organization. Goldner was meant to lead the entertainment accountant section of advertising holding company JWT in 1997, but Bandai America snatched him away.
In 2000, Goldner was working for Hasbro’s Tiger Electronics division, after the firm had laid off 5,000 people. By 2003, the stock market had rebounded, and Goldner was appointed Hasbro’s chief operating officer in 2008, then chairman of the board in 2015.
Brian was an executive producer on the well-received Transformers film adaption in 2007, which was credited with transforming Hasbro into a character-based multimedia firm.
He reprised his role in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra in 2009. Goldner was in charge of getting Hasbro to license Disney’s Marvel Universe characters.
The expansion of these characters into the movie under Goldner’s tenure was likened to how they had progressed from being merely advertisements to television shows in the 1980s.
Goldner received a promotion that year, and MarketWatch awarded him CEO of the year in 2008.
Goldner used his acquaintance with Saban in 2018 to buy the Power Rangers franchise and other properties from Saban Brands for $522 million after first acquiring the franchise’s master product license.
