Anne Frank was a worldwide famous German-born Jewish diarist. Anne Frank is popular for her writing, “The Diary of a Young Girl.” And, it is one of the world’s best books ever.
Anne Frank – Early Life
Anne Frank was born on the 12th of June 1929, in Frankfurt, Hesse, Germany. At the age of 15 years old, she passed away and holds German nationality. Her birth name was Annelies Marie Frank and had a zodiac sign of Gemini.
Similarly, she belongs to the Jewish ethnicity and had her belief in Judaism. Coming towards her parents, she is the daughter of Otto Frank (father) and Edith Frank (mother). Professionally, her father was a lieutenant in the German army during the period of World War I.
And, her father was the only member of his family who survived the concentration camps. Anne had an elder sister named, Margot Frank.

When she was 5 years old, her family moved to Amsterdam, Netherlands along with her family during the Second World War to escape from the Nazis. Her family went into hiding when she was just 13 years old.
Till the year 1942, her family used to live in an apartment block on the Merwedeplein, Amsterdam before they hid. As of now, the same house converts into a museum as a part of the legacy of the 15 years Anne.
Education
Talking about her academic career, she began attending Amsterdam’s Sixth Montessori School in 1934. Throughout the rest of the 1930s, Anne lived a relatively happy and normal childhood.
Anne Frank – Death
During the World War II
In the year 1939, Nazzi Germany invaded Poland and World War II started. After that, Germany started to take over Austria and Czechoslovakia. The German army invaded the Netherlands on the 10th of May 1940.
On the 15th of May 1940, the Dutch army surrendered. After that, Nazis slowly introduced more and more laws and regulations that made the lives of Jews more difficult.
Hiding in the Secret Annex
Anne Frank’s sister Margot received an official summons to report to a Nazi work camp in Germany on the 5th of July 1942. The next day, her family went into hiding in makeshift quarters in a space at the back of Otto’s company building, which they referred to as the Secret Annex.
Apart from Anne’s family, her father’s business partner Hermann van Pels as well as his wife, Auguste, and son, Peter were hiding there. Her father’s employees Kleiman and Kugler, as well as Jan and Miep Gies and Bep Voskuijl, provided food and information about the outside world. Moreover, these two families hid for two years and never once stepped outside the dark, damp, sequestered portion of the building.
Concentration Camp
A German secret police offer with four Dutch Nazis entered the Secret Annex, arresting everyone that was hiding there including Anne and her family on the 4th of August 1944.
The information regarding Anne’s family was informed to German Nazzi by an anonymous tip, and the identity of their betrayer remains unknown to this day. The Anne family and residents of the Secret Annex were sent to Camp Westerbork a concentration camp in the northeastern Netherlands.
On the 8th of August, they arrived by passenger train. Later, on the 3rd of September 1944, in the middle of the night, they were transferred to the Auschwitz concentration camp in Poland.
After coming to Auschwitz, the men and women were separated. It was the last time, Anne, her elder sister, and their mother ever saw her father Otto. Working hard as a laborer for several months, carrying stones and grass mats, Anne and her sister Margot were again transferred.
They were transferred to the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp in Germany during the winter. Where food was scarce, sanitation was awful and disease ran rampant. Sadly, her mother Edith was not allowed to go with them. Due to illness, Anne’s mother Edith died at Auschwitz shortly after arriving at the camp, on January 6, 1945.
The Diary of a Young Girl
On Anne Frank’s thirteenth birthday, just before they start hiding, Anne gets a gift with a diary. During her time hiding in the Secret Annex, she wrote about events in the Secret Annex, but also her feelings and thoughts.
In addition, she wrote short stories, started a novel, and copied passages from the books she read in her Book of Beautiful Sentences. Writing helped her pass the time.

In her diary, she has notes about her brief life, but her voice has echoed through the decades the pages of her Also the act of writing allowed Frank to maintain her sanity and her spirit.
The diary is a story of faith, hope, and love in the face of hate. In addition, the book was published in Germany and France in 1950, after being rejected by several publishers. And, it was first published in the United Kingdom in 1952 and has sold around 30 million copies to date.

In May 2018, diary two hidden pages were discovered by researchers that contained “dirty jokes” and “sexual matters,” which the teen covered with pasted brown paper.
On the 5th of October 1955, a play by American actors; Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett based upon the diary premiered in New York City and was able to win a Pulitzer Prize for Drama.
Similarly, followed by the film, “The Diary of Anne Frank” (1959) was a critical and commercial success.
