She took over as presenter of Nine Morning News and Nine Afternoon News in January 2013, with Kingston taking over as presenter of Nine News Now. Adams returned from maternity leave in October 2014 to host Nine News Now from Tuesday to Friday, with Amber Sherlock hosting on Monday.

Adams took over as host of Nine Morning News and Nine Afternoon News in May 2016, while Davina Smith was on maternity leave. Moreover, she was named Nine News Europe correspondent in May 2018.
In July, she moved to London with her family. She was the Europe correspondent until January 2020, when she relocated to Los Angeles to become the Nine News United States correspondent.
In November 2021, she received the Kennedy Awards for Outstanding TV News Reporting and Outstanding Foreign Correspondent, and in August 2022, it was announced that Adams would join 60 Minutes as a reporter.
