Adele Roberts participated in the 2002 British reality show “Big Brother” (Season 3) as the twelfth house member. After being evicted on July 5, 2002, she finished seventh, seen by 7.1 million viewers. She subsequently returned to the show in 2007, taking part in a Big Brother 8 task alongside Alex Sibley.

After being eliminated from Big Brother, she landed her first radio job at Rock FM in Lancashire in the year 2002. She did present the weekly “Smooth Grooves Show”, a self-produced urban specialist show airing Friday 10 pm-2 am.
She also hosted shows on ‘The Hits Radio’ in Manchester. In 2006, she joined Galaxy in Leeds (now Capital). In 2012, she switched to BBC Radio 1Xtra. Moreover, she stated that presenting on BBC 1Xtra had been an eventual objective and that she had attended a development event for the station (then known as ‘Network X’) in 2002 but was too nervous to contact anybody and left right away.
In 2015, Roberts was appointed as the new host of BBC Radio 1’s Early Breakfast show from 4:00-6:30 am. She also provides regular cover for the Live Lounge show. In the year 2020, she became the first Black woman to host the BBC Radio 1 Breakfast Show.
The BBC announced in November 2020 that she will be the next host of Radio 1’s Weekend Breakfast Show beginning in January 2021, as part of a scheduling change that would see existing Weekend Breakfast hosts move to the afternoon.
In August 2021, she covered Trevor Nelson’s show The Rhythm Nation on BBC Radio 2. In December 2022, she returned to Radio 2 to broadcast the Early Breakfast Show for one week.
On June 21, 2023, she declared her departure from Radio 1. She has already given her last show for the network in May 2023.

Roberts is a regular presenter of BBCSport and in 2019, she joined the London Marathon coverage and commentary team. She was announced as the participant in the nineteenth series of “I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!” in November 2019.
She was the first campmate to be voted off the program on November 29. In January 2020, Roberts won the sixth season of Celebrity Coach Trip on E4 with her partner, Kate Holderness. In October 2023, it was revealed that Roberts would participate in the sixteenth series of Dancing on Ice, which would air in early 2024.
She is also an author and published her first book “The Adventures of Sammy the Skunk: Book 1” in 2001. She also authored five more books which are the sequel to her first book.
