Abel Folk began his career on television in the children’s program “Terra d’Escudella”. It was broadcast by TVE in Catalan at the end of the 1970s. Then, in the year 1992, he was able to receive the award for best film actor from the AADPC (Association of Professional Actors and Directors of Catalonia) for his performance in the film “Havanera 1820”.
He even won the same award the next year with Monturiol, el senior del mar. He worked in “El coronel Macià” in the year 2006 through which he was able to receive a nomination for the Barcelona Cinema Award and another for the Butaca Award for best actor.
Likewise, Folk received another award in 1997 for his performance in the play Pel davant i … pel darrera, in the category of best theater actor. He is very popular for his dubbing in Spanish as well as Catalan for the Irish actor “Pierce Brosnan”.
He has dubbed the actor in almost 40 films, including the four in which he was able to lay Agent 007: James Bond. Abel also gave his voice to a lesser extent, of Hugo Weaving, primarily in his role as Elrond in The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogies, and as the Red Skull in Captain America: The First Avenger.

Moreover, he is also popular for his dub as the Loquendo voice synthesis program of Jorge’s name for the Spanish language and Jordi’s for the Catalan voice. On the other hand, he has been able to appear as the protagonist in the series “La Embassy” since April 2016.
The series has been able to gather more than four million viewers in its first chapter. Abel goes on to play Juan Hidalgo who is the father of the protagonist in the Netflix movie, “Through my Window” based on the book by Ariana Godoy in the year 2022.
