Abraham Schumer, better known as Abe Schumer was born in 1923, in the United States of America. He held American nationality and at the age of 98 years old, he passed away. In addition, he grew up in Utica, New York. By religion, he grew up in a Jewish family.

Abe Schumer – Death
At the age of 98 years old, Abe passed away on Wednesday 1st December 2021, in a Long Island Jewish Medical Center hospital after recently undergoing surgery for heart problems.
According to Senator Chuck, his father had been in the hospital after a recent procedure for heart problems. After his death, his son Chuck as senator wrote that his father “personified the greatest generation.”

Moving on to his profession, Abe Schumer worked as a radar operator in the Pacific during World War II and later took over his family’s exterminating business in Brooklyn. Moreover, he is best known as the father of American politician, Chuck Schumer who is currently serving as the senior United States senator from New York.

Chuck Schumer is a politician and he has been serving as the senior United States Senator from New York since 1999. He is a member of the Democratic Party and has held various leadership positions in the Senate.
This politician has had a long political career. He was first elected to the House of Representatives in 1980 and served there until 1999 when he was elected to the Senate. He has since been reelected multiple times. Moreover, he is known for his active involvement in crafting legislation and his role as a party leader.

During his time in the Senate, he has held various leadership positions within the Democratic Party. He served as the Vice Chair of the Senate Democratic Caucus from 2005 to 2009 and as the Chair of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee from 2005 to 2009. In 2017, after the Democrats regained control of the Senate, Schumer became the Minority Leader.
Later, in 2016, Schumer won his fourth Senate term and was unanimously named Democratic leader to succeed Harry Reid, who was retiring. He became Senate Majority Leader in January 2021, making him the first Jewish leader of either body of Congress.
As majority leader, he shepherded through the Senate some of the Biden administration’s major legislative initiatives, including the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022, the CHIPS and Science Act, the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, and the Respect for Marriage Act.
Under his leadership, the Senate confirmed the most federal judges in the first two years of any presidency since John F. Kennedy’s, as well as the most diverse slate of federal judicial nominees in American history, including Ketanji Brown Jackson, the first African American woman to serve on the Supreme Court.
