Then in the year 1993, at the young age of eight years, he made his feature film debut with the comedy movie Matinee. For this project, he worked alongside John Goodman and Cathy Moriarty.
Then in the year 1994, he co-starred as the character “Percival” in the drama Safe Passage. A year later in 1995, the actor co-starred as “Bobby Brady” in the comedy The Brady Bunch Movie. He also reprised his role in A Very Brady Sequel a year later.
He continued the pattern of working with Oscar-calibre and A-list talent. He then starred as a runaway-turned-sleuth “Jamie Kincaid”. It was in the TV movie From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler. He then worked with director Richard Shepard in the AMC TV movie The Royale.

After High School Graduation
After graduating from high school, he returned to his TV career. In the year 2004, he took over the role of troubled youth “Will Munson” on the CBS soap opera As the World Turns (ATWT). He then played this role until April 4, 2008.
As of the year 2008, he received nominations three times for the Daytime Emmy Award for “Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Series”. It was for his work on ATWT. He also received a Soap Opera Digest Award nomination for “Outstanding Younger Lead Actor” in the year 2005.
Then in 2007, actor Jess Lee Soffer returned to his film career and co-starred with actor Carly Schroeder. It was in Davis Guggenheim’s sports drama, Gracie. This project is based on a true story. Moreover, in July 2010, an actor reprised his role as “Will Munsen” on As the World Turns.

Then in the year 2012, he co-starred with actor Jordana Spiro. It was in the short-lived medical drama The Mob Doctor portraying the role of “Nate Devlin”. Nate is the streetwise brother of Dr. Grace Devlin (Spiro).
Later the same year, an actor co-starred as the character “Travis Alexander” in Lifetime’s original movie Jodi Arias: Dirty Little Secret. Similarly, in June 2013, reports were claiming that he had joined the cast of the police procedural drama Chicago P.D. It is the first spin-off show from the drama Chicago Fire. According to the reports, he was cast as the character Det. Jay Halstead.
His character, Det. Jay Halstead was introduced in the second season of Chicago Fire. On 19 March 2014, NBC renewed this series for a second season and also officially announced that the second season would premiere on 24 September 2014. The actor does his stunts on the show.
