Oti Mabuse is a popular South African professional Latin American and ballroom dancer. Early Life

Oti Mabuse was born on 8 August 1990 in Pretoria, South Africa. As of the year 2024, she is currently 33 years old. She has an elder sister named Motsi Mabuse.

Her sister is also a professional ballroom dancer. In addition, Motsi participated in the German series Let’s Dance both as a professional dancer and as a judge.

Career

In 2015, Oti appeared as a professional dancer on the eighth season of Let’s Dance, the German version of Strictly Come Dancing. Daniel Küblböck was her partner and they finished in sixth place.

After a year, in 2016, she returned as a professional dancer for the ninth season of Let’s Dance. A television presenter. Niels Ruf was her partner. But in week 2 they became eliminated and reached 14th place.

In 2015, she appeared as a professional on the 13th series of Strictly Come Dancing. She partnered with Olympic boxer Anthony Ogogo. Later, the couple finished in 14th place and became eliminated in week 3.

The same year, she also participated in the Children in Need and Christmas specials of the show. In the show, she was partnered with actors Jack Ashton and Tom Chambers respectively.

In 2016, she was partnered with former Hollyoaks actor Danny Mac for the show’s 14th series. The couple reached the final and finished as runners-up.

For the show’s 15th series in 2017, she was partnered with Paralympic sprinter Jonnie Peacock, they were eliminated in Week 9 in 8th place.

She paired with England cricketer Graeme Swann for the show’s 16th series. They became eliminated in Week 10 in 7th place.

For her fifth stint on the show, in 2019, she was partnered by former Emmerdale actor Kelvin Fletcher. He replaced her originally announced partner, Made in Chelsea star Jamie Laing.

However, her partner had to withdraw from the show after sustaining a foot injury when dancing on the launch show. Because of it, Kelvin Fletcher replaced Laing, just before the start of the live shows.

They went on to become the winners of the series.  Later, she took part in the national Strictly Come Dancing – The Live Tour in 2017 with her celebrity partner Danny Mac.

They were voted by the audience as the winners of more individual shows than any other couple.

In August 2017, she and Ian Waite announced a 60-date 2018 UK tour An Audience With. She was a contestant on an episode of Tipping Point: Lucky Stars in 2017.

Similarly, she announced in October 2019, that she would be teaching at Donahey’s Dancing With The Stars Weekends in 2019.

Relationship

In 2016, she married a Romanian dancer, Marius Lepure. They first met during a dance trial in Germany.

Moreover, they have worked together on Strictly Come Dancing and also competed together in different dance shows.

They won the German National Show Dance Championships together and were the first runner-up of the World Latin Championship.

Both of them are professional dancers and Marius even performed on the BBC One dancing competition in the group numbers in 2017.

In 2014, Marius proposed to her and after two years of engagement, they tied their wedding knot. Oti posts a lot of pictures with her husband on her social media accounts. In January 2020, she and Marius went on a romantic trip to Italy. The couple is happily married and living a comfortable life together.

STRICTLY Come Dancing’s Oti Mabuse has been left ‘devastated’ after a 3 am hotel nightcap with her dance partner Kelvin Fletcher.

There have been several claims that there is a kind of romantic relationship going on between her and Kelvin which both parties have strictly denied.

Last year, Emmerdale star Kelvin Fletcher and professional dancer fought off the competition and even were the winners of Strictly Come Dancing 2019.
