Alfonso Herrera is a talented actor and singer from Mexico. Alfonso Herrera gained fame for his role as Miguel Arango in the Mexican telenovela “Rebelde” (2004–2006), which also led to the formation of the successful pop group RBD.

Alfonso Herrera was born on 28 August 1983, in Mexico City, Mexico. Currently, he is 40 years old and he has a birth sign of Virgo. His full name is Alfonso Herrera Rodríguez and holds Mexican nationality. He practices the Christian religion and belongs to the Caucasian ethnicity.

Education

Professional Career
Alfonso Herrera started his career in theater. He has appeared in “Las Brujas de Salem” (2001), “Como matar an un ruiseñor” (2001), and “Antigona” (2001).
In 2002, he was cast in the film “Amar te duele,” directed by Fernando Sariñana. He then transitioned to television, working in the telenovela “Clase 406,” with Dulce María, Anahí, and Christian Chávez, who eventually became his bandmates in RBD. Herrera, who appeared in the serial opera “Clase 406,” co-wrote the soundtrack tracks “De Donde Vienes… A Donde Vas…?”, “Corazón de Ángel”, “Por Ti”, “Shala La La”, and “Grito” from the album Clase 406 – El Siguiente Paso…! (2003).
Rose to Fame
He then appeared in an episode ‘Tres Lágrimas’ of the Mexican series “Mujer, Casos de la Vida Real” in 2004. Then, he was cast as Miguel Arango, one of the main roles in “Rebelde” which is a Mexican remake of the hit Argentine novela Rebelde Way. The series became a hit worldwide and had over 400 episodes, lasting from 2004 to 2006.
Following the popularity of Rebelde, Televisa released “RBD: La Familia” in 2007, starring the group’s members. “RBD: La Familia” was the first Mexican television show shot fully in high definition. From March 14, 2007, until June 13, 2007, the show aired 13 episodes in total.
Continued working on successful projects
Later, he was cast in the film “Volverte a Ver” which was released in December 2008. In 2008, he replaced actor Kuno Becker in the play “The Pillowman.” RBD has released nine studio albums, including in Spanish, Portuguese, and English.
They have sold over 15 million records worldwide and performed in Mexico, South America, Serbia, Romania, the United States, and Spain. The group went on one final tour, Gira del Adiós World Tour, which ended in early 2009.
He lent his voice to the main character in the animated film “Igor” (2008). In the 2009 film “Venezzia” he starred with Ruddy Rodríguez. He starred as Sebastián in the Televisa’s latest novel, “Camaleones.”
He played Fermín Pérez, a federal police officer, in the Pedro Torres-produced television series “El Equipo.” In the 2011 Mexican series “El Encanto del Águila” he played the revolutionary Aquiles Serdán. Later, he was cast in the 2013 Mexican horror film “Espectro” along with Paz Vega.
Recent Works
He then played the role of Niño Malo in the third season of the Colombian series “El Capo” (2014). Moreover, he played the protagonist of the 2014 controversial Mexican film “The Perfect Dictatorship.”
He then starred as Hernando Fuentes the boyfriend of Lito Rodriguez, played by Miguel Ángel Silvestre on the Netflix original series “Sense8” (2015–18). In 2015, he appeared in the Mexican series El Dandy. Herrera portrayed Ramón in the film “The Chosen” (2016).
Between 2016 and 2017, he appeared in two episodes of the Mexican television series “Drunk History,” playing Che Guevara and Aquiles Serdán. He portrayed Father Tomas in Fox’s American horror series “The Exorcist” (2016-17).
Moreover, he appeared as a recurring character in the third season of the American television series “Queen of the South” (2018) before joining the main cast in the fourth season alongside Brazilian actress Alice Braga. In 2019, he plays Leon on the Mexican television series “Sitiados: México.”
