Marnus Labuschagne has played for Queensland’s under-12, under-15, under-17, and under-19 teams. On the 31st of October 2014, he made his first-class debut at Adelaide Oval in the 2014-15 Sheffield Shield and scored 83 runs in the first innings against South Australia. During the 2012-13 National Championships, he captained the under-19 team of Queensland.
He made his List A debut on October 5, 2015, against Tasmania in the 2015 One Day Cup. In his eighth in the match Sheffield Shield, he scored 112 runs against South Australia at the Brisbane Cricket Ground. In the 2016 One Day Cup, he became the Player of the Tournament after scoring 273 runs at an average of 45.
Moreover, in the 2017-18 Sheffield Shield, which his team Queensland won, he was the leading runscorer for Queensland with 795 runs at an average of 39.75, including two hundred, and the tournament’s second-highest runscorer. Labuschagne made his test debut against Pakistan on October 7, 2018, at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE), scoring 0 runs in the first innings and 13 runs in the second. In January 2019, he scored 81 runs in the first innings of a test against Sri Lanka at Brisbane Cricket Ground.
During the two-match test series against Pakistan in Australia in November 2019, he scored his first/maiden test century with 185 runs in the first innings at Brisbane Cricket Ground, Brisbane, and 162 runs in the first innings of the second test at Adelaide Oval, Adelaide; his series average was 173.50.
Continued performing well in the test matches
He scored 143 runs in the first innings and 50 runs in the second innings of the first test match at Perth Stadium, Perth, and 215 runs in the first innings and 59 runs in the second innings of the third test match at Sydney Cricket Ground, Sydney, during the 2019-20 series against New Zealand.
Further, he made 108 runs in the first innings of the test match against India at the Brisbane Cricket Ground in January 2021. Moreover, he scored 103 runs in the first innings and 51 runs in the second innings of a test match against England at the Adelaide Oval in December 2021.

He made his ODI debut against India on January 14, 2020, at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, India; however, he did not bat as India’s goal was chased by Australian openers. On January 19, 2020, at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, he scored 54 runs against India, marking his first half-century. He scored his first ODI century on March 7, 2020, against South Africa at Senwes Park in Potchefstroom, South Africa.
On November 29, 2020, he scored 70 runs against India at the Sydney Cricket Ground. On March 31, 2022, he made 59 runs against Pakistan at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. He scored two runs in his first Twenty20 International against Pakistan on April 5, 2022, at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, Pakistan. He has also played in his home country’s domestic league called Big Bash League (BBL).
