Early Life

Ezra Klein was born in Irvine, California, the United States, on May 9, 1984. Currently, he is 39 years old and has a sun sign of Taurus. He holds American citizenship and belongs to the American-Jewish ethnicity. Additionally, she has her belief in Judaism religion.

He was born to his parents; Abel Klein and Jacqueline Klein. Professional Career

Initially, Ezra Klein started working on  Howard Dean’s primary campaign in Vermont in 2003 and interned for the Washington Monthly in Washington, D.C., in 2004. In 2003, he and Markos Moulitsas were among the first bloggers to report from the California State Democratic Party’s conference.

The New Republic writer Lee Siegel (posting as a sock puppet named Sprezzatura) anonymously flamed Klein as one of the numerous writers in the year 2006. In 2007, he started working for the American political journal American Prospect. On December 10, 2007, he made the American Prospect his full-time blog. After that, he became a columnist for The Washington Post, where he began writing in 2009.

In 2011, he started writing columns for both The Washington Post and MSNBC. He departed from The Washington Post in January 2014. Later, Vox Media recruited him to launch a new political website.

He has also offered political analysis on MSNBC’s The Rachel Maddow Show, Hardball with Chris Matthews, and The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell. In 2015, he founded The Weeds, a Vox podcast featuring in-depth talks on public issues.

Klein is presently the editor-in-chief of Vox. Klein, Sarah Kliff, and Matt Yglesias founded The Weeds, a Vox podcast featuring in-depth talks about public policy, in October 2015. He also presents “The Ezra Klein Show,” a podcast. Moreover, he is an executive producer for Vox’s Netflix series Explained, which aired in 2018.

He launched the podcast ‘Impeachment, Explained’ in October 2019, alongside other Vox Media reporters. Moreover, he joined the New York Times in 2020 and became an opinion columnist in 2021. According to British digital strategist Rob Blackie, Klein was one of the most popular political writers among Biden administration officials on Twitter.

The Week magazine and The Sidney Hillman Foundation honoured Klein as Blogger of the Year in 2010. In 2011, GQ ranked him one of the top 50 most powerful persons in Washington, D.C. Time magazine picked his blog as one of the top 25 greatest finance blogs.

Klein got the Best Online Commentary Award from the Online News Association in 2013. He also received the American Political Science Association’s Carey McWilliams Award, for “a major journalistic contribution to our understanding of politics.” He was one of 80 men featured in Esquire’s 80th anniversary issue, as well as a T magazine.
