Early Life and Childhood
Tatiana Navka was born on April 13, 1975, in Dnipropetrovsk, Ukrainian SSR, USSR. She is 48 years old and is under the astrological sign, Aries. She holds Ukrainian-Russian nationality and her full name is Tatyana Aleksandrovna Navka.
Her father’s name is Aleksandr Navka and her mother’s name is Raisa Navka. She also has a younger sister whose name is Natalia Navka. Talking about her parents, her mother is an economist whereas her father is an engineer. And, in the year 1988, she along with her family moved to Moscow Oblast, Russian SFSR.

Career and Professional Life
Tatiana Navka was interested in skating when she was just five years old after she saw it on television. Then, Tamara Yarchevskaya and Alexander Rozhin coached Navka during her early years as a single skater. Following a 14 cm growth spurt that hampered her jumps, her parents were advised that she should try ice dancing in the year 1987.
After moving to Moscow she was trained at the Moskvich sports club with coach Natalia Dubova in 1988. She went on to partner with Samvel Gezalian and represented the Soviet Union, winning gold at the 1991 Skate America and 1991 Nations Cup. After the Soviet Union dissolved, Navka and Gezalian chose to skate for Belarus. They were able to make their debut at the European and World Championships in 1993, finishing in ninth place.
Likewise, Navka along with Gezalian were able to win silver at Skate Canada International and placed fourth at NHK Trophy in 1993 and 1994. They even achieved their best world result, finishing fifth in the year 1994. In the following season, they went on to win silver at the NHK Trophy and came in fourth at the European Championships. Their partnership ended after the 1995 World Championships where they placed seventh.
Later on, she went on to join forces with Nikolai Morozov in the year 1996 and continued representing Belarus. They were able to secure an Olympic spot by winning gold at the 1997 Karl Schäfer Memorial.
Despite a lighting issue during their free dance at the 1998 Winter Olympics, they completed their performance. They finished 16th at the Olympics and 10th at the 1998 World Championships. and after the 1998 Worlds, she ended the partnership to skate with another partner.
Moreover, after parting ways with her previous partner, Navka was able to team up with Roman Kostomarov and start competing for Russia. They won bronze at the Russian Championships and placed 12th at the World Championships in their first season together. However, Linichuk dissolved the team and paired Kostomarov with Anna Semenovich.
At that time, Tatiana took a break from competition due to pregnancy. Then, in the year 2000, Kostomarov reached out to her and they reunited, coached by Alexander Zhulin. They went on to win the World title in 2004 and 2005, three European titles from 2004 to 2006, and gold at the 2006 Winter Olympics. After retiring from competition, they continue to skate together in shows.
Tatiana Navka has teamed up with various Russian celebrities to compete in ice shows such as Stars On Ice and Ice Age. She won Stars On Ice with actor Marat Basharov and was a runner-up in Ice Age with actor Ville Haapasalo.
She was a runner-up again, this time partnered with actor Vadim Kolganov in the 2008 and 2009 seasons of Ice Age. Also, in September 2008, she was able to participate in the Eurovision Dance Contest 2008 with professional dancer Alexander Litvinenko. Then, in October 2011, she was able to become an ambassador for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi.
Controversy
Tatiana Navka’s involvement with Carina Global Assets Ltd. which is an offshore company, and her ownership of multiple properties in Moscow raised questions about her wealth. There were concerns about underreported income, false marital status claims, and misleading information given to the IRS.
Her dance performance on a Russian TV show dressed as a Holocaust prisoner sparked controversy in the year 2016. Though she along with her partner stated it was inspired by a film and not meant to offend. Also, in the year 2021, she went on to make sexist comments about a male gymnast, expressing support for gender discrimination and the Russian gay propaganda law.
Relationship Status
Tatiana Navka tied the knot with Russian ice dancer, Alexander Zhulin in the year 2000. The couple also has a daughter together and her name is Sasha. Sasha was born in May 2000 in the United States. Later in 2009, they separated and filed for divorce and were officially divorced in July 2010.
She then was in a relationship with Russian diplomat Dmitry Peskov. He is the press spokesman for Vladimir Putin. They also have a daughter whose name is Nadezhda (Nadia). She was born in August 2014 in Russia. They tied the knot in a civil ceremony at a registry office in June 2015 before a larger ceremony on 1 August 2015.
Moreover, she had to face sanctions from multiple countries, including the United States, the European Union, the United Kingdom, and New Zealand, due to her connection to Dmitry Peskov and his involvement in the Russo-Ukrainian War.
