While Adam Mosseri was still studying, he started his design consultancy called Blank Mosseri, in 2003. Therefore, it focused on graphics, interaction, and exhibition design.
In addition, his company had offices in New York and San Francisco. Thus, he joined TokBox as the company’s first designer, in 2007. Later on, he got an opportunity to join Facebook as a product designer in 2008. Moving on, he became a product design manager, in 2009.

Following that year, he became the design director for the company’s mobile apps, in 2012. He oversaw Facebook’s News Feed section, from 2012 to 2016.
Similarly, from 2016 to May 2018 served as vice president of products for Facebook. He additionally oversaw Facebook Home, during his tenure at Facebook. Thus, it is the company’s unsuccessful attempt at bringing a mobile home screen to Android devices.
He took it upon himself to become the spokesperson for Facebook’s stance on “fake news”, after the 2016 presidential election. Therefore, he was one of the few Facebook executives vocal about Facebook’s role in providing security and trustworthy news, during the 2018 Cambridge Analytica scandal.
Fortunately, he was named Instagram’s vice president of products, in May 2018. There was an announcement made by Facebook that Mosseri would assume as the new head of Instagram, on October 1, 2018.
Thus, it followed the resignation of the photo-sharing app’s founders Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger in September 2018. Furthermore, his title as head of Instagram differs from the title of former leader as CEO as Facebook reserves CEO titles for company founders.
He is expected to hire a new executive team and oversee “all business functions”, as the company head.

In addition, 2015 Business Insider recognized Adam Mosseri as a Facebook “Power Player.” He was a keynote speaker at the International Journalism Festival in Perugia, Italy, in 2017.
