Taylor was in Bogotá, Colombia, for an evening performance with the Foo Fighters on March 25, 2022. His room at the Four Seasons Casa Medina hotel was visited by emergency personnel after he reported chest pains. He died when he was 50 years old. When medical personnel arrived, they discovered him unconscious. He was given CPR, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. His death was attributed to cardiac arrest.
