This band performed on local radio stations until they released limited copies of two Extended Plays between 1998 and 1999, the first was the self-titled, “Evanescence EP”, and the second was the “Sound Asleep EP.”
In the year 2000, they recorded, ‘EP Origin’, with songs such as ‘Whisper’, ‘Imaginary’ and ‘My Immortal’. Because of their popularity, these songs, composed by the band’s founders, were included in a later album. Lee sang two songs as a guest singer for ‘Evanescence’ keyboardist David Hodge in the year 2000: ‘Breathe’ and ‘Fall Into You’. ‘Fall Into You’, on the other hand, was never released.
In 2003, she sang background vocals on ‘Missing You,’ a song by ‘Big Dismal,’ a Florida-based post-grunge Christian Rock band comprised of Eric Durrance, Chuck Shea, Gary Sobel, and Jeff Chomin. In 2003, she sang backup vocals for the rock supergroup ‘The Damning Well’ on two songs. ‘Awakening’ was released as the ‘Underworld’ movie soundtrack, while ‘Power’ was never released.
