Jo Mersa Marley is a late Jamaican-American reggae singer, musician, songwriter, and performing artist. Jo Mersa Marley is also known as the son of Stephen Marley and grandson of reggae musician Bob Marley.
Early Life
Jo Mersa Marley came to the world on the 12th of March 1991, in Kingston, Jamaica. His birth name is Joseph Marley and holds Jamaican nationality. At the age of 31 years old, he passed away and had a birth sign of Pisces. Meanwhile, he belongs to the Jamaican-American ethnicity and has his belief in Christianity.
He was born to his parents, Stephen Marley (father) and Kertia DeCosta Marley (mother). Moreover, his father is a Jamaican-American musician and an eight-time Grammy Award winner.
He was the eldest child of his parent and has twelve siblings; Zipporah, Yohan, Lailah, Shacia, Binghi, Nyah, Summer, Mystic, Sasha, Benjamin, Jeremiah, and Stephen Marley Jr. When he was just 11 years old, he started making music with his cousins.

Jo Mersa Marley – Education
In terms of his academic career, he attended Saints Peter and Paul Preparatory School, before he moved to Florida to attend Palmetto High School. Later, he went to Miami Dade College where he studied studio engineering.
Death
On the 27th of December 2022, Marley died at the age of 31 years old. The reason behind his death was due to an asthma attack. He had asthma his entire life, according to reports. Moreover, he was discovered unconscious in a vehicle in the United States. Jamaican politicians have paid tribute to the late musician.
Professional Career
Moving on to his professional career, Jo Mersa Marley made his stage debut when he was just 4 years old. As a child, he used to appear with his father, his uncle Ziggy Marley, and his aunts Cedella Marley and Sharon Marley. Back in 2010, he made his musical debut with a track named ‘My Girl,” on which he collaborated with his cousin Daniel Bambaata Marley. His first EP “Comfortable” was released in 2014 on iTunes and Spotify.

Moreover, his debut EP was then followed by the 2021 album named “Eternal” which consists of the songs – Guess Who’s Coming Home, Company, No Way Out, That Dream, Yo Dawg, and Made It, Thinking.
Meanwhile, he has also appeared on a Grammy-winning album Strictly Roots by Morgan Heritage. Besides his singing career, he is also known as the son of musician Stephen Marley and grandson of reggae musician Bob Marley.
Stephen Marley
Stephen Marley is a well-known Jamaican-American musician. Moreover, Marley is the son of Bob Marley, has won eight Grammy Awards, three as a solo artist, twice as a producer of his younger brother Damian Marley’s Halfway Tree and Welcome to Jamrock albums, and three more times as a member of his older brother Ziggy Marley’s group Ziggy Marley & The Melody Makers.
In 2012, his album Revelation Pt. 1 – The Root of Life won the Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album. On July 22, 2016, his follow-up, Revelation Pt. 2 – The Fruit of Life, was released.
He composed and produced all of the songs on his self-produced solo albums Mind Control (2007), Mind Control Acoustic (2008), Revelation Part I: The Root of Life (2011), and Revelation Part II: The Fruit of Life (2016), and he played a variety of musical instruments himself. On April 3, 2017, he and Pitbull performed their single “Options” on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

Bob Marley was a Jamaican musician, singer, and songwriter. He is widely regarded as one of the pioneers of reggae music and is considered a global icon of Jamaican culture. His music blended elements of reggae, ska, rocksteady, and other genres, and his lyrics often addressed social and political issues.
Some of his most famous songs include “No Woman, No Cry,” “Redemption Song,” and “Three Little Birds.” Marley’s music continues to be influential and popular worldwide, even decades after he died in 1981.
