Amy was chosen for the international Black Ferns Autumn Tour. On November 7 at Northampton, she made her debut for New Zealand in a match against England as part of their Northern Tour. In preparation for the first Super Rugby Aupiki, she signed with Matat.

Rule was chosen for the Black Ferns team to compete in the Pacific Four Series in 2022. For the Laurie O’Reilly Cup two-test series against the Wallaroos in August, she was called back into the team. She was chosen for the 32-person Black Ferns 2021 Rugby World Cup squad a month later.

In the postponed World Cup quarterfinals, Rule scored a try against Wales. Just before halftime in the World Cup final matchup against England, she scored a try off the back of a maul.
