Early Life
On the 27th of January 1937, Mahesh Kanodia was born in Kanoda village, Patan district, Gujrat, India. He died at the age of 83 years old and held Indian nationality. Death
Sadly, at the age of 83 years old, he died on 25 October 2020, in Gandhinagar from COVID-19 during the COVID-19 pandemic in India. He was paralyzed for six years before his death. Two days later, his younger brother Naresh Kanodia died of COVID-19 as well.
Professional Career
Professionally, Mahesh Kanodia began to perform as a stage singer & dancer along with his younger brother Naresh Kanodia. He was the pioneer in starting the concept of the musical orchestra in India back in 1947. In addition, he could sing in more than 30 voices of famous playback singers, including female voices. Since the age of eight, Mahesh has performed more than 13,000 shows worldwide. He worked as a musician, composer, and singer for four decades in Gujarati cinema.
He also won several Best Music Awards for his performance as a music composer for the films, Jigar and Ami (1970-71), Tanariri (1974-75), Jog Sanjog (1980-81), and Laju Lakhan (1991-92).

Moreover, he and his brother Naresh were one of the most successful & famous musical pairs in the Gujarati film industry. The duo was also called the Mahesh-Naresh duo in the Gujarati film industry.
He and his brother were the first pair who traveled overseas to perform as stage artists in different places including America, Africa, and some other Asian countries, during the year the 1980s. The two brothers published an autobiographical Gujarati book based on brothers “Sauna Hridayma Hammesh: Mahesh- Naresh,” in the year 2011.
As a politician, Mahesh represented the Patan constituency of North Gujarat in Lok Sabha four times as a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). In addition, he represented the Patan constituency in Lok Sabha four times (10th, 11th, 12th, and 14th) as a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party, 1991–1999, and 2004–2009. During his tenure in politics, he dedicated himself to empowering the poor and the backward.

He has won several awards and recognition during his professional career as a film artist. In 1970-1971, he was awarded Best Music for the film Jigar and Ami as a composer. Similarly, he won the Music for the film Tanariri in 1974-1975, as a composer. He earned the second-best film for the film Jog Sanjog in 1980-1981 as a producer. In 1981-1982, he won the Best Playback Singer for the film Akhand Chudlo. Later, he was awarded the best music for the film Laju Lakhan in 1991-1992 as a composer.
