After scoring the game-winning goal and leading the Crimson to the Beanpot title in 1992-93, he was named the tournament’s most valuable player.
He was named first-team All-Ivy, first-team All-ECAC, and first-team All-American that same year. He was also named Ivy League Player of the Year, ECAC Player of the Year, and a finalist for the Hobey Baker Award in 1992-93. Later, he was named to the ECAC’s All-Decade Team for the 1990s.
Drury played for the Calgary Flames, Hartford Whalers, Ottawa Senators, Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, New York Islanders, and Columbus Blue Jackets during his NHL career. Drury played for the Hamburg Freezers, Kassel Huskies, and Krefeld Pinguine in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL) from 2002 to 2007.
However, Drury announced his retirement from professional hockey in April 2007. In 2015, he was inducted into the Fairfield County Sports Hall of Fame. Drury represented the United States in the Winter Olympics in 1992 and 1994.
Similarly, Drury also represented Team USA on numerous other occasions, including the World Junior Championships in 1990 and 1991. Drury also represented Team USA at the 2003 IIHF Men’s World Championships.
