Early life

On November 30, 1950, Larry Hoover was born in Jackson, Mississippi. As of now, he is already 73 years old and his sun sign is Sagittarius. Offenses and crime

A 19-year-old neighborhood drug dealer, William “Pooky” Young was abducted, on the evening of February 26, 1973. Later, he was shot to death in an alley near 68th Street and Union Avenue in Chicago’s Englewood. Therefore, his killing was ordered by Hoover. His maned was mentioned as one of three people accused of stealing drugs and money from the gang.

He and Black Disciple member Andrew Howard were both arrested, on March 16, 1973. Later on, they both were both charged with murder and sentenced to 150 to 200 years in prison, in November 1973. In addition, he was sent to Stateville Correctional Center in Crest Hill, Illinois, to serve out his term.

Thus, the Black Disciples, David Barksdale, died from kidney failure by an injury, in 1974. However, he took the reins of the Black Gangster Disciples Nation. Therefore, the group had control of Chicago’s South Side, at the time. The Black Gangster Disciples took over the South Side drug trade, under his rule.

While incarcerated, It was found, that he helped form the Folks Nation. This also added hands like Black Disciples, Satan Disciples, Ambrose, and Two-Two Boys. And, also gangs like Gangster Two-Six, Simon City Royals, North Side Insane Popes, and La Raza Nation.

Later, the Black Gangster Disciples started to go against their merger and ally, the Black Disciples, in 1989. Thus, it was over a drug-dealing dispute in the neighborhood of Englewood, Chicago. The situation escalated into a shooting that killed several people. Hence, it resulted in them changing their name to the “Gangster Disciples. Additionally, he ran the gang’s illicit drug trade both in prison and on the streets, while was incarcerated.

Moreover, he claimed to have renounced his violent criminal past, by early 1993. Also, he became an urban political celebrity in Chicago. With charity events and peaceful protests, the Gangster Disciples earned fans in the community.

Likewise, he proclaimed that the initials GD had changed to mean “Growth & Development.” In 1995, he got another life sentence after a lengthy federal investigation using wiretaps. Similarly, his gang had 30,000 “soldiers” in 35 states and made $100 million a year. As of now, he is currently serving his sentence in prison.
