Motel Pictures “We Forgot to Break Up”, co-written by and starring Steven, is a film about a rock band who are confronted by their old friend and ex-manager. Also, it premiered at TIFF and SXSW before going on to win Best Canadian Short Film at the Whistler Film Festival.
He and Amanda Brugel received a Canadian Screen Award nomination for Best Host in a Web Program or Series at the 10th Canadian Screen Awards in the year 2022, for their cohosting of Television Costume Arts and Design awards and the 2021 Canadian Alliance of Film.
Moreover, he is the lead singer of the new Toronto funk band, the Elastocitizens. ‘The ElastoCitizens’ is a ten-piece funk rock band formed in 2005 for which Steven is co-founder, co-songwriter, and bandleader.
And, they have released one album and one 3-song Ep, and the entire band plays themselves in the feature film “Picture Day.”
