Ken Caminiti was a well-known American third baseman who played baseball in 15 seasons of Major League Baseball (MLB). Ken Caminiti became popular after becoming the National League’s Most Valuable Player in 1996.
Early Life and Childhood
Ken Caminiti was born Kenneth Gene Caminiti on 21st April 1963. His birth took place in Hanford, California, United States, and therefore is American by nationality.

On October 10, 2004, he took a speedball of cocaine and heroin at a friend’s apartment in New York City and instantly dropped to the floor, suffering from a major cardiac attack.
Professional Life and Career
Ken Caminiti was signed as a third-round choice in the amateur draft by the Houston Astros in 1984. He began playing professional baseball in 1985,
with the Osceola Astros of the Single-A Florida State League. He would go on to play for 15 seasons after that. In the Puerto Rico Winter League, he also played third base for Puerto Rico’s Indios de Mayagüez.
He made his major league debut with the Houston Astros in July 1987. Likewise, he returned to the minor levels in 1988, joining the Triple-A Tucson Toros of the Pacific Coast League.
Despite being injured multiple times during his stint with Houston, he blasted 18 home runs in 1994, earning him his first All-Star Game selection.
He was also chosen for the All-Star Game in 1996 and 1997. Similarly, after six seasons with Houston, he was transferred to the San Diego Padres in a 12-player deal that included Steve Finley,
Andujar Cedeno, Roberto Petagine, Brian Williams, and another player in exchange for Derek Bell, Doug Brocail, Ricki Gutiérrez, Pedro Martnez, Phil Plantier, and Craig Shipley.

four years with the Padres, and brief spells with the Texas Rangers and Atlanta Braves, he retired in 2001.
