Early Life
Jimmy Lake was born James Paul Lake in Walnut Creek, California, on December 17, 1976. He is 47 years old. He has kept a lot of information about his parents and siblings to himself.

Jimmy participated in football, basketball, and baseball during his high school years. From 1995 through 1998, he was a strong safety in collegiate football.
Lake was chosen to the All-Big Sky Academic Team, was named team captain, and garnered honorable mention All-Big Sky honors. Following graduation, the athlete worked as a graduate assistant before joining Eastern Washington as their defensive backs coach.
In 2004, JImmy became the new defensive back coach at the University of Washington. He subsequently signed with Montana State before joining the NFL’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an assistant defensive back coach the following season.
After three seasons with the Detroit Lions, he was appointed as their defensive back coach. In 2010, the coach returned to the Buccaneers as a defensive back coach for two seasons. Lake was the defensive backs coach for Boise State in 2012 and 2013.
He was hired as the new defensive back coach for the University of Washington in 2014. He was promoted to Defensive Coordinator with the squad in 2016.
Jimmy Lake became a full-time defensive coordinator in 2018, and after Chris Peterson resigned in late 2019, Lake took over as the team’s new head coach. He didn’t get off to a strong start as a head coach, therefore he was hired in November 2020.
