Neri Oxman is a founder and director of a research group named “Mediated Matter“. Neri Oxman is a career woman. Similarly, she is also a designer and an architect by profession.
Early life
Neri Oxman was born on February 6, 1976. She recently turned 48 years old. She was born in Haifa, Israel. Similarly, she was born to parents Robert Oxman(Father) and Rivka Oxman(Mother). It seems like she followed the footsteps of her parents as both of them were architects by profession as well. Likewise, as a child, she was very keen to learn new things.
In different interviews, she mentioned that she spent a lot of time at her parents’ architectural studio and her grandmother’s garden while growing up. From a very young age, she tried to maintain a balance between her culture and nature.

Education
Initially, the 45-year-old architect was a medical student at the Hebrew University’s Hadassah Medical School. However, two years later in the year 1999, she decided to change her stream and took up architecture. Neri studied at the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology.
Likewise, to complete her further education, she went to the London Architectural Association School of Architecture. There she obtained a Master’s Degree. Moreover, she also has a Ph.D. degree in architecture at MIT.
Neri Oxman – Career
In 2010, Neri Oxman worked as an Associate professor of Media Arts and Science at the MIT Media Lab. There she also founded a research group called ‘Mediated Matter’. She is not only the founder of the group but also the director. The group has contributed to designing custom printers one of which is a prototype design to build 8-foot tall structures in outdoor spaces with a robotic arm.
Moreover, she is also working on the use of different 3D printing techniques for which she has teamed up with amazing companies like Stratasys. Neri puts in a lot of work to bring her visions into reality. Over time, she has partnered with many talented minds such as Iris Van Herpen, Craig Carter, and many more.

A few of her popular designs are the ‘Imaginary Beings’, ‘Wanderers Collection, ‘Silk Pavilion’ installation, and some others. Talking about her installation in 2015 called ‘Synthetic Apiary’, was her effort to study the behavior of bees within the indoor environment and out in the open. Her projects have always reflected her love for nature and design. Her work always reflects her dedication and passion in the field of architecture and design.
Neri was also a speaker for a TED Talk show in October of 2015 where she talked on the topic of Design at the Intersection of Technology and Biology. There she put forward her vision to bring together scientific insight and material ecology. In similar ways, she continues to impress everyone with her phenomenal designs.

Neri Oxman is honored with many awards and titles for her incredible work and contribution to modern architecture. Some of the awards won by her include the Graham Foundation Carter Manny Award, HOLCIM Next Generation Award for Sustainable Construction, METROPOLIS Next Generation Award, BSA Women in Design, Vilcek Prize in Design, and Emerging Voices Award.

Neri Oxman is one of the best in her field. Her designs incorporate elements of nature and science together. Although the American-Israeli designer has not revealed her salary yet, it seems like she earns well. It seems like she gets paid per project. Relationship Status
Back in 2011, she tied the knot with the Grammy winner composer, Osvaldo Golijov. However, they parted ways with each other after a few years. No one knows the actual reason for their separation. However, during the time that they were together, Neri once confessed in an interview that her ex-husband Osvaldo highly influenced some of her designs.
Later in 2018, there were rumors of her having a fling with the popular actor Brad Pitt. Nonetheless, those rumors were never confirmed. Currently, she is dating Bill Ackman. Both of them are very career-oriented and happy with each other’s company.
