Early Life and Childhood
Gong Hyo-Jin was born in Sinwol-dong, Gangseo District, Seoul, South Korea, on April 4, 1980. Presently, she is 43 years old and her sun sign is Aries. She moved to Australia when she was a junior in high school with her mother and brother.
Gong attended John Paul College in Brisbane, before returning to Korea in 1997 owing to the IMF crisis, which affected most parts of East Asia. Then, she went to Sejong University, Seoul, to complete her education before making her debut as a model.

Gong started her career as a model in 1998, working in various commercials for the telecom industry. She was not serious about acting when she first started.
Moreover, ‘Happy to Death’ was one such advertisement in which she initially appeared. After a year, she starred in a horror flick named ‘Memento Mori.’

Later in 2010, she published a collection of essays titled, ‘Gong Hyo-jin’s Notebook.’ And, the book became a best seller.
