Vera Wang tried in the U.S. Olympic games as a skater but was not chosen. After that, she transitioned to building her career in the fashion industry. She first started as the youngest editor for Vogue magazine at the age of 17.
At the age of 23, she was promoted to senior fashion editor at Vogue. She worked for 17 years at Vogue before joining Ralph Lauren as a fashion director. After joining Ralph Lauren in 1987 she worked for 2 years and resigned at the age of 39.
After that, she became an independent bridal wear designer.
She has designed gowns for famous celebrities like Mariah Carey, Ivanka Trump, Avril Lavigne, Khloe Kardashian, Victoria Beckham, Alicia Keys, Hillary Duff, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Chelsea Clinton, Kim Kardashian, and many others.
